What is a M.E.S.S. Express Cab Card?

  • A M.E.S.S. Express Cab Card is a prepaid taxi card, fare and tip included. There are four different packages, each with a different number of rides to suite the occasional taxi user to the frequent taxi user.

Where can I take a cab?

  • One ride will take you anywhere with the city of Ithaca, including, Collegetown, the commons, the mall, and Wegman’s.

Do I have to give a tip for the ride?

  • This is the best part!! Tip is included in each ride on your M.E.S.S. Express Cab Card. So no need to worry about tipping the driver.

Can I use my CabCard to travel outside the city limits?

  • • Yes, but destinations outside Ithaca will cost more than 1 ride.

When does the card expire?

  • The M.E.S.S. Express Cab Card is good for the entire 2009-2010 academic year. The rides remaining at the end of fall semester carry over to spring semester.

What if I use all of my rides, and need more?

  • Through our website you will be able to track how many rides you have left, and will be able to add additional rides to your M.E.S.S. Express Cab Card.

What if I lose my card

  • Call M.E.S.S. Express and report it. We will cancel your card, and issue you a new one within 24 hours (Monday through Friday). The card can be picked up from Ithaca Dispatch, or the card can be deliver right to you for a small fee. If you don’t need the card immediately we can mail it to you within 3 business days.

What if I don’t have my cab card on me, and I need a ride?

  • Call the M.E.S.S Express Emergency Contact line (631-235-0938), and we will get you a safe ride home.

Will I have to wait a long time for my cab to arrive?

  • With the M.E.S.S. Express Cab Card, you are viewed as a priority for the taxi company, so your call will be bumped up in the queue, and the wait for a cab will be shortened.

What happens if my friend doesn’t have a Cab Card?

  • You can swipe for your friends. An additional ½ ride will be deducted for each person.
